The Turrialba Volcano National Park has been reopened since December 8, 2020.
It had been closed since 2010 due to high activity. Under permanent surveillance, it is accessible again. If you’ve never walked through a crater before, Turrialba is the place to do it. Its lunar landscape, the fumaroles and the view from the trails are impressive. It is the second highest volcano in Costa Rica. It rises to 3300 meters above sea level. One more reason to explore the Turrialba region, rich in sports and cultural activities.
